In this presentation, Lisa gives a brief history of the blues, and performs the music of blues artists Ma Rainey, Odetta, Bessie Smith, Memphis Minnie, Robert Johnson, Mississippi John Hurt, Fred McDowell, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Sippie Wallace, and Etta James.

Lisa will also give brief examples of the influence that Blues Music has had on artists such as
Patsy Cline, Elvis, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Eric Bibb, Bonnie Raitt, and even Lisa’s own music.
